Emoticons 

     The smiley face and other emotional icons, known as emoticons, have given people a concise way in e-mail and other electronic messages to express sentiments that otherwise would be difficult to detect. It started with the smiley face 25 years ago, and now all the chatting softwares contain an array of faces intended to express emotions ranging from surprise to affection to embarrassment.

     Of course, if you read a sentence that says, “I love my boss :)” you’d better not take that seriously!
