Tall Tales

          People, especially in the Midwest, exaggerate about the weather, such as the following:

     “Pity the folks in Nebraska, where it’s so hot farmers have to feed their chickens cracked ice to keep them from laying hard-boiled eggs.”

     An Iowa farmer complained that the hot sun made his cornfield explode into popcorn!

     But it’s true about the tornadoes.
