Vacant Lot Downtown
A vacant lot purchased by the city in March—for the time being—is going to be a parking lot for contractors involved in construction projects downtown. City leaders considered the corner lot on High Street an eyesore and voted to purchase it and the building next to it (for $450,000) in order to have control over future development. “Any new building there will need to fit in with the streetscape and be at least three stories tall,” said Mayor Don Ryan.
