Thanksgiving Holiday

Americans have a Thanksgiving holiday the fourth Thursday of November.  They prepare a large turkey dinner with pumpkin pie and cranberries.  Why do we have Thanksgiving?

The Pilgrims sailed to America in 1620 in a small ship, the Mayflower.  Their first winter was terrible because they didn’t have enough food.  The friendly Indians helped them to plant corn and other food.  The next year they had a feast and gave thanks to God.  It’s good to give thanks.
